We’ve celebrated a fantastic 125th year at Clee Bowls Green, filled with memorable moments and friendly competition. This year has been a highlight, with some incredible events including the much-loved family fun day, the exciting inter-club competition, and the pleasure of hosting visiting teams.
However, we regret to inform you that the Clee Bowls Green will be closing on Thursday 12th September. This closure is essential to address ongoing issues with the green, particularly the edging, which requires urgent attention. The winter months provide the perfect opportunity to carry out these necessary repairs and ensure the green is in top condition for the start of the next season.
We understand that this news may come as a disappointment, but we’re already looking forward to another fantastic year of bowls in 2025. We plan to continue our popular events, including the family fun day, inter-club competition, and welcoming visiting teams.
While the green may be closed, we hope to see you all throughout the winter at our social events. It’s a great chance to catch up with fellow members and enjoy each other’s company.
Why not take up snooker?
With the green closed for the winter, why not explore a new indoor pastime? Snooker is a fantastic game that combines skill, strategy, and patience. It's a great way to stay active and social during the colder months. We could potentially arrange some snooker evenings at a local club, so keep an eye out for updates.
Thank you again for a wonderful year.
